Site design research
These are some sample sites. Some I found useful, and others made it clear what I did not want to do. I gotta be honest, there was a ton of stuff to look at. Much of it looked unremarkable and didn't work much better. Needless to say, I couldn't see it all. That said, I would welcome anything I surely missed or anything that would be of interest.

One of my main issues with a designing RADIO site is that I didn't want it to look and feel like a traditional navigation page for web content. Ya know, grid heavy, side nav and banner top. However, I wanted it to be efficient and easy to use. In essence, using successful methods for hierarchy, but somehow, reinventing it. Since this is a class room setting with a noticeable lack of nervous clients, what better place to experiment.

As for content, the above site sight is close to what I had in mind. Loads of local and student made stuff. Local venues, shows and product. The design is kind of forgettable, but clean.

While I still have much to look at, the Biscoradio site above (that I think I swiped from Matt's research site) is getting closer to a look and feel for a radio site. I like the listings and performance dates as well as the transmission info. It all looks important, might be worth weeding some stuff out though.

These are screen shots from one9ine work samples. While it's not a radio site. I like the circular, centered navigation device, the layered look and the typography. I wanted the radio interface to be atmospheric, at least at the moment I do. Anyway, I'll use this as a starting point to flesh out my comps. Making the look too up front might be limiting. We'll see.
